“Ah…uh…,” she faltered, cowering under those frosty golden eyes.
He roared, “You can’t know till she becomes one, can you?! It’s fine if you’re hostile to her because of a battle, but don’t go around dismissing people by your own random standards!”
“…Ngh?!”
“You know, that idiot Arthur, when he first started—”
Suddenly, Rintarou came to his senses.
What am I getting so worked up about? Everyone thinks King Airhead isn’t the right ruler. I mean, come on, even I think that.
Anyway, this stupid battle is just supposed to be a game for me to kill some time. There isn’t any reason for me to take it seriously. Like, I wouldn’t respond this way if my character was mocked by someone in a game.
But then why am I acting this way?
“Tch… How about we end this soon?” he suggested, shaking his head slightly and brushing off his unwarranted irritation before readying his two swords.
Swirling up with the ferocity of a storm, his inky Aura roared out of his body. Even an amateur would’ve been able to see that his opponent was at an obvious disadvantage.
“Guh…?! Y-you monster! Beast…!” she accused in a trembling voice, slowly making her way backward.
Sir Gawain—and even Sir Kay—turned blue, their foreheads oily with dripping sweat. Anyone would be frightened. Absolute terror gripped the battlefield.
In fear and dread, all eyes were on Rintarou—a monster, a beast—in front of them.
“…My liege. We should retreat,” proposed the knight bitterly, seeing the way things were heading. “I’m disappointed, but with him here, my Sun’s Blessing amounts to nothing more than rubbish. Even if we choose to fight, we have no chance of winning.”
“Th-that’s…”
“It’ll be fine. We are in your netherworld. If we focus on escaping, we might have a chance… I await your decision!”
“Ugh…uhhh…?!” she gritted in frustration for some time, holding her trembling sword.
Eventually, Felicia mumbled something.
Then they both slowly began to fade away. The world distorted, bending and wriggling around. The Netherworld Transformation over the school melted away.
“Ugh! Remember this, you monster! This isn’t over!” she spat.
With this final line, Felicia and her knight fully disappeared from the distorting world.
